Because You Asked...

...actually, Lisa S. and Ashton asked.

(But I do get this all the time.)

Jeans: Brands, Where to Buy, and Where to Get a Deal

1 - James Jeans. I usually get mine on sale at the Uniquities basement/attic sales or at Accessorize with Pi Phi. I will now also be replenishing from their outlet site I found out about right before Black Friday (they finally used my email address for something!). The prices were REALLY good on Black Friday (I'm talking $60.00), but they're still better than full retail even without the Black Friday pricing.

PS - I assume their outlet site is up all year, but right now the homepage still advertises pricing effective through 12/31/2009.... so we'll have to see where this one goes.

I've blogged about them several times.

2 - Rock Revival. From Bevello. I've also blogged about these. They are fantastic - a little stretchier than James, but still a great fit from both.

3 - I also have a pair of Citizens that I really like. Just one pair, though. For now. ;-)

4 - I would one day love to own a pair of Raleigh Denim customs.

Bevello Follow-Up: Denim Love at First Sight

I moseyed on over to Bevello the last time I was in Beleza, and I was totally just going to look... I swear!

But of course, I walked out with these. It's a sickness, and I should be in therapy. But seriously, a good pair of jeans cannot be ignored. Especially a pair with such beautiful embellishments on the pockets!

the Rock Revival Stephanie boot-cut

Nevermind the "Stephanie" name, they should call these jeans, "Gloriousness in Denim"!

I should have gotten the size smaller like the super helpful and friendly sales girl recommended (shame on me), but since they've got some stretch, I thought it was best to go up to the 26 (or was it the 25?). Anywho, they're a *tad* loose, but they still look HOT.

Can't wait for my next Bevello shopping trip!

PS: Big "Thanks!" to my always awesome Mom for shortening the hem on them for me. Being 5' 2'', jeans always are about 6'' too long for me. THANKS MOM!!!!! NOW they're really perfect!

PS #2: Bevello has launched a fantastic new website! Do yourself a favor and check it out A.S.A.P., I swear you'll double love it.

PS #3: In checking out the Rock Revival website, I'm a bit wigged out to see I'm wearing the same jeans as Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson (ugh), but whatever, I guess it could be worse. The BF, who is a MMA fan, thought it was HILARIOUS when I made this discovery last week. (Hopefully he'll forget the whole porn star reference and let that one die.)

Raleigh Jeans

While I was browsing the same website that I found my recent boot addiction on I also happened to stumble upon these sweet jeans. The fleur de lis is one of my favorite embellishments/designs/patterns... and on jeans! (Although, sadly - I'm a little girl and those jeans looks like a pretty relaxed fit... so they're most likely a no go for me. I'm very particular about the fit of my jeans.)

Speaking of denim, this is a really cool feature from NewRaleigh.com on a local denim company! I really need to check their stuff out soon. How cool would that be to a have my "go to jeans" come from right in my own back yard?

UNDRESSED: Raleigh Denim"One thing led to another, and Verses Jeans was born. (The name changed to Raleigh Denim last summer). The two married in October 2008, and today they’re making jeans—and history—full-time in a studio on Bloodworth Street.

New Raleigh met them there Friday evening before they headed out to the Rosebuds show. Sarah was wearing boots over Raleigh Denim jeans and an old black L.A. Raiders t-shirt, with her hair down long and straight. Victor, wearing cuffed Raleigh Denim jeans with an old White Horse Tavern t-shirt, remarked that he was missing his usual hat since he’d showered that morning."
Check out the full story and let me know if you have any Raleigh Denim of your own!

Love Her Look: Julianne Hough

I love Julianne... and LOVE the wardrobe in her new video:Snag this look -- under budget, too!
Vintage Gold Necklace - Etsy.com - $16.00

Charlotte Russe - Pocket Vest - $14.99

Mossimo® Black: Micro Rib Racer Back - True White - $8.99
(I personally love the long layering tanks from Old Navy, but there are none in white on the website! Yikes!)

Mossimo® Black: Skinny Denim Jean - Eric Dark Wash - $29.99

Piperlime - Bandolino "Edwina" - $69.97
(There is also an even cheaper alternative for $39.97!)
Love it or hate it? I'd rock it.

Actually, I do rock it.

I wore something similar to the Whitney Duncan concert we had here in Raleigh this past November with a black vest and black boots. You have to forgive her drummer, Peter, in the background for that picture. They are a fun bunch!

Ok, Maybe it's a Little Rednecky

Rednecky or not, I've always deep-down loved the summer look of destroyed denim against a nice tan. Although, I usually prefer it with flip flops or boots and a cute tank top, because it'd be really easy to go overboard wit this look. If your jeans are "destroyed", then the rest of your look shouldn't be.

Cora Boutique's blog post today is making me hate this cold rain we're getting drenched with here in NC even more so than normal...Current Inspiration: Destroyed Denim

Click through and check out the super cute white short shorts and more.

Good Deal on Jeans for a Good Cause at Aeropostale

Since I snagged a few great pairs of jeans (two pair of James Jeans in my hard-to-find size 24 and a pair of Citizens) at Uniquities on Saturday, I need to make some room in my closet.

Here's a great way:If you have a teen who has too many pairs of jeans in the closet, here's an interesting opportunity: Starting today and running through Feb. 22, Aeropostale stores will be collecting gently worn jeans that they will then donate to 500 youth shelters. Anyone who donates a pair will get an additional 25 percent discount off a new pair of jeans if they want, though no purchase is necessary. To find out more, visit the Web site, teensforjeans.com.Thanks for the heads up, Sue!

It's Here!

As mentioned last week, Uniquities Raleigh sale is here... yay!!!Click the image below to launch it in your browser to read all the details (Saturday: 10am-7pm) and about the savings!

(Here's wishing for just a second that I'm wasn't going to Vegas with some of my favorite people in the world in two weeks... but I am, so I can't go blowing my money away just yet. Ok, that's gone. I'm still really excited about Vegas!)

PS: Lisa S. also offered up a great deal that's also worth sharing - "Brooks Brothers Non-Iron Shirts are $36 off normal price. So, $53 instead of $89".

Question of the Week

Question of the Week (well technically, last week as I'm a bit behind on my blogging): "Lisa, what do I wear to watch race practice (other than ear plugs)?"

What a fabulously southern question from reader, friend, and fellow blogger - Lisa S.!

I LOVE dressing for "all-american" events. My recommendations were nice jeans, boots, and shirt/top varying on the weather. And of course, obligatory awesome sunglasses if it's a day thing. Here's the caveat on the boots though - make sure they're broke in boots... because if you're going to be in them all day and they're new... your ankles will be destroyed afterward.
Lisa's Race Day Wear
(that can be either Lisa in this particular story)

Sunglasses - Isaac Mizrahi for Target - $19.99

Top - Old Navy Twisted Neck Top - $10.00 (sale!)

James Jeans are my absolute favorite - any bootcut will do. Prices are usually around $180.00 but you can stock-up for half that at Accessorize with Pi Phi while supporting a great cause(more info to come soon)!

Last but not least, my Justin Boots (exact model shown above) have now been re-soled 2 times... they're THAT essential. Price... unsure? Probably less than $100 for boots that will last a lifetime.
Lisa S. also suggested, "I thought MAYBE the pink John Deer hat". I definitely support the John Deere hat and I double support the pink with the ribbon - any day or place is a great one for supporting breast cancer research!Whatever you do, nix any sort of heels. I did that ONCE at Panthers' stadium... big mistake. It was a much longer walk than anticipated from the BF's aunt's parking spot to the upper deck seats. (I may or may not have demanded a piggy-back ride from said BF on the walk back after the game.)

So how did it go? Be sure to check in later this week for the on location report from Lisa S.!

Exciting stuff coming to my little blog all the time, huh?

WANT: Blue Wash

Normally, I'd just list any info I receive in an email... but today's email from Lisa at Scout & Molly's was too pretty to not share in a picture!

Here's my newest must-have item. I know it's a bit small, but just give it a click for a larger image for the details. When you're hooked too - grab some for 20% off at Scout & Molly's when you purchase a pair of jeans (and who can't use another pair of jeans?)!

PS - Little-known techy tool here: when you click on the image, your browser will probably scale the image to 87% or so... just click on "view" then "zoom/zoom in" to see the details if the text is too small to read when it's scaled down!
