Event of the Year: Uniquities Attic Sale!

This is my FAVORITE shopping event of the year - the Uniquities Attic Sale! Ashley (Black) Currin and I joined in this ridiculous spectacle of designer clothing at amazing prices back in my sophomore year of college (I think it was my sophomore year...). Even if you're not really looking for anything in particular, I recommend you check out the line down Franklin Street in Chapel Hill yourself at least once in life... and score yourself a pair of James jeans for half off!


My favorite part of this is - and I can't guarantee they are doing it again this year, but... - the Raleigh store in Cameron Village always seems to have their basement sale just the next weekend after this big sale which is not as busy or overshopped! Katie and I went last year and stocked up on jeans and I scored two (count 'em 1, 2) Theory jackets for under $500 (a major steal since the value was probably around $1000-$1200 for both at full retail). If I get another email from Uniquities about Cameron Village it'll definitely be posted here :-)

PS - Don't take your boy-toy with you to Chapel Hill, it's an open dressing room in the store so no men are allowed inside for this day only!

YEAH I SAID IT!

Before any of the "Huh? Don't you mean seersucker/dresses/Lilly/etc." questions begin I will tell you all that while yes, all of those are important, they're a lot easier to master. BE HONEST. Dresses come in all sorts of necklines, cuts, colors, patterns, etc. But the perfect pair of jeans, now that my friends, is true happiness.

I myself happen to be a James Jeans faithful - I have yet to find any other brand to fit or flatter my shape and size any better. I can totally be persuaded to give local - YES LOCAL - designer Amy Stephenson a try though!

Good Deal on Jeans for a Good Cause at Aeropostale

Since I snagged a few great pairs of jeans (two pair of James Jeans in my hard-to-find size 24 and a pair of Citizens) at Uniquities on Saturday, I need to make some room in my closet.

Here's a great way:If you have a teen who has too many pairs of jeans in the closet, here's an interesting opportunity: Starting today and running through Feb. 22, Aeropostale stores will be collecting gently worn jeans that they will then donate to 500 youth shelters. Jeans: Brands, Where to Buy, and Where to Get a Deal

1 - James Jeans. I usually get mine on sale at the Uniquities basement/attic sales or at Accessorize with Pi Phi. I will now also be replenishing from their outlet site I found out about right before Black Friday (they finally used my email address for something!). The prices were REALLY good on Black Friday (I'm talking $60.00), but they're still better than full retail even without the Black Friday pricing.

PS - I assume their outlet site is up all year, but right now the homepage still advertises pricing effective through 12/31/2009.... so we'll have to see where this one goes.

2 - Rock Revival. From Bevello. I've also blogged about these. They are fantastic - a little stretchier than James, but still a great fit from both.








3 - I also have a pair of Citizens that I really like. Just one pair, though. For now. ;-)

Francesca's Coming to Cameron Village

From GoGoRaleigh.com - (and the looks of their website), it doesn't look particularly unique for Cameron Village by any means, but should be a nice addition.

I will say however, that I am actually very surprised at what's available on their website and the prices - it actually does appear to be an affordable boutique which I think for the most part, is lacking at Cameron. Don't get me wrong, I love Uniquities, etc., but a girl can't always splurge... so if CV wants to continue to build business, incorporating more opportunities for "wardrobing" (mixing $150 jeans that look good for years with a $30 trendy top since it won't be so hot in two seasons) seems essential to me.

PS - I signed up for their newsletter to "get discounts and alerts on the hottest looks of the season" so we'll see what all that entails soon hopefully!

Just got an email today that the 13th Annual Attic Sale will be taking place at Uniquities in Chapel Hill on Saturday, January 17th starting at 10am. Deals can be snagged for up to 75% off.

In the past, I've gone to Chapel Hill and braved the masses but what makes me really excited is that the Raleigh sale usually takes place the following weekend - yay! That's where I'll be this year, like I have the past few years (see previous posts here).
