Mark Your Calendars: August 1-3, 2008

Thank you once again to Sue Stock's retailing blog for reminding me about the state sales tax holiday all of us NC folks get to enjoy for "back to school" shopping! For some reason, the other day, I was thinking about this year's sales tax holiday, when things like clothes and school supplies are available without sales tax for one weekend.

This year's North Carolina tax holiday will run 12:01 a.m. Aug. 1 through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 3, if you want to put it on your calendar. You can find the official list of tax-exempt items on the Department of Revenue Web site here. It makes me laugh every year that "rubber pants" are on the list..."
The only drawback is it always means a dateless wedding weekend for me since the BF is attached to Fred's Beds for their sale, too. What the heck, I'll just shop to lift my spirits. ;-)

  1. I read this and thought "Oh crap, I need to work on that." Then I get to the bottom and laugh. What time is the wedding? We can work something out.

  2. Well SO far, all of the weddings are on other weekends. But this will be a first year for that... so I wouldn't put money on it just yet.
